Alaska Spirit of Reading 2015-2016
The Alaska Association of School Librarians sponsors the Alaska Spirit of Reading program with funding and support from the Alaska State Library and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.  2014/2015 grant application here.

The Alaska Spirit of Reading Program is proud to announce young adult author Matt de la Peña as its 2015-2016 Spirit author. Matt will be visiting the state of Alaska March 7-12. Matt's visit will focus on the Fairbanks region, where he will visit schools, libraries, and the Fairbanks Youth Facility.

The Spirit of Reading program is happy to lend these books/sets to your school library, public library, or organization. Please use them with your students. These books are currently available. We will update this site when another shipment comes in.

Several exciting activities, including an author visit, are being planned for participating sites. Rural students will be able to participate in teleconference programs with the author.
