The Alaska Spirit of Reading is a statewide book discussion program which this year is featuring the works of J. (Joseph) Torres, a Canadian comic book writer and former ESL teacher.

J. Torres

How Does It Work?

Joseph Torres's books are available for lending from the Spirit of Reading Program. Once you are finished with the book sets, we will ask you to send them on to another site.

Please contact us at mail@akspiritofreading.com to reserve a lending book set.

Several exciting activities, including an author visit, are being planned for participating sites. Rural students will be able to participate in statewide radio call-in and teleconference programs with the author.
